Sarah Rucker of Deltona, Fla. was found stabbed to death in a restaurant parking lot Monday after alerting police authorities that her husband, Dwayne White, was trying to kill her.

"I'm as good as dead," Rucker told police, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

It was not the first time Rucker had called for help in fear of her husband. She had pressed charges in February and other times for domestic battery at the hands of White. That night Rucker called 911 after getting into another domestic spat with him.

"He just came, knocked me down, threw the beer on me, and took my phone because I called the police," Rucker told the dispatcher. "He's not supposed to be here. He just got out of jail for doing this to me."

During the call, Rucker and the dispatcher got disconnected twice; there were times when Rucker could be heard screaming in the background. At one point she asked what was taking so long for police to get to her home, and then decided to pursue White on her own.

"I'm going to go find him myself," she was reported to have said.

Four hours later, Rucker was found dead in a Miami Subs parking lot.

After being found at a girlfriend’s home, White was jailed at Volusia County Branch Jail with no chance of bail. He faces charges of first-degree murder.
