The long term care industry is among the top careers where workers can advance and maintain job stability. According to the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living, the long term health industry is among the top 10 employers in the United States. The two organizations are partnering to urge lawmakers to protect funding to the health care industry to protect workers and patients. A report was released by the organization with statics supporting the importance of long term care for the sick and elderly. Among vital statistics released includes a fact that 3.7 percent of the nations gross domestic product (GDP) comes from long term patient care.
