Teen births saw a 6 percent drop from 2008 to 2009. In 2009 teen births were 39.1 per 1,000 down from 45.1 births per 1,000 teens reported in 2008. The CDC collected its information from teen birth records in all 50 states. The organization reveled in a statement that the data is among the lowest child birth rates in several decades of child bearing.
