You are here: Health Business Health Insurance Brokerage Firm

Thirty years ago, Ned Miller, president of  Ned A. Miller, Inc. packed up his bags,  left New York and moved to New Mexico to start up his own Insurance Brokerage firm.
Today, Miller says that America is missing a vital point with regard to rising health care costs.  “It is wellness that must be stressed in the health care system,” Miller said.

Miller attended a round-table forum several years ago. “I met directors of several major health care providers,” he added, “including Blue Cross Shield.”
He sounded incredulous when he said, “Do you know that that all three of the top providers told me that they offer free check-ups to their insured.  When I asked them what percentage of their insured took advantage of the offer the director from Blue Cross Blue Shield said only 50%.” He continues, “The other two said 50-60%. That’s Unbelievable.”
Miller feels that the solution is for “everybody to be forced to undergo periodic check-ups, with money sometimes provided by corporations. “   He argues that, “the fundamental difference today is that employers are saying, ‘Damnit,’ my employees have got to be healthy.  I can’t afford the high cost of smokers, and diabetes, it leads to heart attacks and other debilitating ailments.”
According to Miller, “a corporate business owner that I know gave every one of his employees pays $55 to have a check-up.  And he told me that he saved money the following year, avoiding costly procedures that occurred the previous year.”
Miller is passionate in his belief in “incentives for health risk appraisals.”
In fact, he has seven written books on the subject and delivered lectures.  He says another factor in our health cost crisis, is “the single payer systems, (namely) Medicare and Medicaid.”
He Noted that “in Canada %75 of the population lives within 90 miles of a U.S. hospital….wealthy people who don’t want to wait nine months for health care, take advantage.”  He said that “the comparison to the Canadian is an inaccurate one.”  Today, in America, he believes “that system is not applicable.”

Ned Miller Graduated College 1953 during the Korean War was still going on.  I left the Army when I was 23 years of age. I started working for an insurance company which paid my rent, bills but wasn’t enough. On September 15, 1955 after leaving New York 31 years ago and moving to New Mexico.  I wanted to get into life insurances so I opened my own company.
“My company has a 3 man work staff consisting of 3 brokers that do the leg work for the company” he said humbly
Ned expressed “The insurance industry has changed tremendously for the better of the clients.” and

I was diagonosed with cancer 61/2 yeasr ago so and decided to sell my company which at that point was woth $550,000 dollars, but I didn’t and now the company is worth 330,000. I like to think im extrermly consistent and know what im doing, and how to delegate others to get the job done.
Ned Miller has writen a book 7 books and a manual 53 pages on Incentive health and wellness, a  program for my clients and future clients. Example: Weight reduction program, smoker program
There is a trend towards wellness programs, we will do better with reduced premiums and insurance companies will not pay for that.
